How to Choose Your Lingerie Size When Shopping Online

Floral embroidered lingerie set from the HTN collection

Finding a beautiful set is the easy part. Choosing a size can feel less straightforward, especially when one shop uses bra sizes and another uses UK clothing sizes. The best starting point is the sizing information for the exact item you want, rather than assuming that every set fits like your everyday underwear.

Check how the lingerie is sized

Before adding a set to your basket, look at the size selector and any size guide on its product page. Some HTN sets use ranges such as UK 6–8 or UK 10–12; others use individual UK sizes. These labels describe the options for that product. They should not be treated as a universal conversion between clothing size and bra size.

A matching set sold as one size may also give you less flexibility than buying the top and bottoms separately. If your usual bra and brief sizes differ, ask us about the specific set before ordering.

Use underwear that already fits as a reference

Make a note of the size of a comfortable bra and a comfortable pair of briefs. Choose pieces you wear now, rather than something bought years ago. If you use a measuring tape, follow the measurements requested in the product’s guide. Keep the tape level and avoid pulling it tight enough to change the measurement.

Measurements are a starting point, not a promise of identical fit across every style. A structured underwired bra, a soft cup and a strappy set can feel different even when their labels look similar.

Consider the shape and adjustment

Look closely at the photographs and description. Adjustable shoulder straps can help position a top, while adjustable waist or garter straps may offer some flexibility. Adjustment does not replace choosing a suitable size: straps should not need to dig into your skin to keep a piece in place.

Think about the coverage you enjoy, too. A thong, a fuller brief and a high-cut design can sit differently on the body. Pick the shape you feel comfortable wearing.

Choosing sizes for the HTN Lingerie Box

Our HTN Lingerie Subscription Box asks you to select your bra size, brief size and style preference separately. Check all three before choosing a delivery option. You do not need to assume that your bra and briefs must share one clothing-size label.

What if you are between sizes?

There is no reliable rule that everyone should always size up or always size down. The right choice depends on the cut and the product’s size guide. Email sales@lingerie-sets.co.uk with the item name, your usual bra and brief sizes, and the part of the fit you are unsure about. We can help you check the available options.

Before purchasing, read the current returns policy so you know the conditions for trying on and returning an item. Ready to find your next set? Explore our lingerie sets and use the guidance on each product page.
